PEER COUNSELING

Lynn Del Bene
Program Coordinator

Many individuals with disabilities feel lost and alone in their struggles to overcome barriers in their lives. Peer Counseling Services help people to better handle disabilities emotionally by exploring subjects such as adjustment to disabilities, job stress, relationship difficulties, and emotional support. Counseling can be done on an individual basis and in group settings. These counseling sessions offer persons with disabilities an opportunity to get to know themselves better, to discuss common issues and concerns, and improve their feeling of self-esteem and self-worth.
